Was unterscheidet gutes UI Design von schönem Design? What distinguishes good UI design from pretty design?
Schönheit ist beim UI Design ein Nebenprodukt, kein Ziel. Gutes UI Design führt den Blick dorthin, wo die Aufmerksamkeit gebraucht wird, macht Wichtiges sichtbar und Unwichtiges leise, reduziert Fehlbedienungen und schafft Vertrauen. Wenn ein Interface diese Aufgaben erfüllt, sieht es fast automatisch auch gut aus — umgekehrt gilt das nicht. In UI design, beauty is a by-product, not a goal. Good UI design guides the eye to where attention is needed, makes the important visible and the unimportant quiet, reduces operating errors, and builds trust. When an interface does these jobs, it almost automatically looks good too — the reverse is not true.

Die Kunst ist, Komplexität zu ordnen statt sie zu verstecken: klare visuelle Hierarchien, lesbare Zustände, konsequente Muster. Mit 17+ Jahren Enterprise-Erfahrung weiß ich, wie viel Information ein Screen tragen kann — und wie man sie anordnet. Especially there. Data-dense tables, many system states, nested workflows — complex interfaces need UI design most urgently. The art is to organise complexity rather than hide it: clear visual hierarchies, readable states, consistent patterns.
